QUOTELacuna Coil这支拥有美女主唱的歌特金属乐队已经著名到完全不需要多做介绍了。乐队在意大利的Milan成立，在典型的金属旋律里，主唱们的音色产生了一种微妙而奇特的变化，创造了男女声色之间的完美和谐。1996年在乐队还没有用Lacuna Coil作为乐队名，而是叫做Ethereal的时候，他们将创作的两首demo小样寄给了一些欧洲的唱片公司，最终乐队选择与Century Media签约合作，并更名为Lacuna Coil。
在Century Media的支持下，Lacuna Coil开始创作发展自己的音乐，1997年，在Hagen的Woodhouse，乐队开始录制歌曲，当时的制作人是Waldemar Sorychta，Andreas Ferro和Cristina Scabbia分别是男女主唱并且共同担任词曲的创作工作，还有吉他手Raffaele Zagaria和Claudio Leo；贝司手Marco Zelati和鼓手Leonardo Forti。但是乐队很快有了变动，在支持Moonspell的巡回演出中，吉他手和鼓手离开了乐队，幸亏这时鼓手Markus（来自Kreator）和吉他手Anders（来自Tiamat）暂时填补了乐队的空缺，演出才得以完成。下一年的一月，乐队终于找到了新的乐队成员，吉他手Cristiano Migliore（前Thy Nature）和鼓手Cristiano Mozzati（前Time Machine）加入了乐队，Lacuna Coil就此开始演绎他们新的历史。
1998年乐队在葡萄牙首都Lisbon参加演出，这一次的演出是Lacuna Coil第一次在超过4000位观众前进行表演，接着乐队开始了第2次欧洲的巡回演出，这次同行的是The Gathering 和 Seigmen。这次演出很成功，虽然Cristiano Migliore受了伤没能参加演出，Steve Minelli（来自Node）代替了他的位置，另外，乐队又在键盘上有了Alice Chiarelli的参与演出。同年，乐队参加了Wacken Open Air Festival，那可算是欧洲最重要的金属节日，乐队不俗的表现引起了公众的热烈反响，乐队也明白了在自己所发展的音乐道路上，他们真正需要的是拥有实力的吉他手而不是键盘手。
乐队的处女大碟In a Reverie在同年的10月份正式发行，依旧是在原先的录音室，由相同的制作人制作完成，但这绝对是一张高水准的唱片。1999年初，Lacuna Coil又招募了一位新的吉他手Marco Biazzati，乐队新的成员组成从此确定下来并一直延续到现在，不久以后，乐队又参加了新的欧洲巡演。接着乐队与My Insanity and Grip 公司的Samael合作举办了大量的巡回演出，这锻炼了乐队的现场演奏的能力。这也是乐队事业的一次高峰，使得乐队第一次在超过5000名观众面前进行演出。
当乐队回到意大利参加“God’s of Metal”节的时候，公众的反应也更加强烈了。接着乐队又进行了一些小规模的演出，几个月后，在德国为Lacrimosa作了友情演出。2000年，乐队在Damage唱片公司支持下录制了一张EP“Half Life”，制作人还是Waldemar，看来乐队是决定与Waldemar长久合作。在这张EP里，乐队首次尝试了意大利文的词而且首次融入了数字技术。这也算是乐队在创作方面的新的突破。
然后首次大规模的而且是Lacuna Coil专场的演出开始了，乐队自己的调音师等其他制作人员共同完成了这次演出，虽然其中有一些意外，但整场演出还是非常成功的，更引起不小的反响。接着又是很多的巡演，乐队成立以来似乎就是在大量的演出过程中渐渐成长的，但是过多的演出带来的疲惫也是不可避免的，所以在后来的一段时间里乐队做了一些休息和调整。同年12月，在原先的录音室里，和同样的制作人合作，乐队又推出了第二张专辑“Unleashed Memories”，这一张延续了上一张专辑唯美而富有感情的音乐主旨。在这张专辑发行后，乐队远到墨西哥与Theatre of Tragedy一起进行巡演，这次的巡演很成功，使乐队获得了更多的忠实的歌迷。
2001年是Lacuna Coil演出最频繁的一年，在不同的音乐节里，比如Wacken Open Air 和 Summer Breeze，与众多大牌乐队共同登台演出，比如In Flames, Dimmu Borgir, Nevermore 和 Susperia等。乐队巨大的潜力慢慢的被激发出来，一次又一次的向世界证明的自己的实力。同年10月，乐队开始酝酿下一张专辑，12月，乐队首次开始了北美的巡演，并且再次和乐队的老朋友Moonspell一起完成这次旅行。这次巡演仍旧非常成功。其中最值得纪念的事是乐队首次在海上演出！
2002年，乐队开始录制新专辑“Comalies”，制作人就不用多说了。到现在为止，“Comalies”被公认为乐队最好的一张专辑,整个欧洲甚至世界的宣传煤体都称这张专辑为歌特金属界中难得的瑰宝，因为在这张专辑里，人们不光能感受到更强劲更现代的金属氛围，更会被阴郁柔美的歌特旋律所打动。虽然在这之前这样类型的音乐包括Lacuna Coil本身和其他乐队都有摸索和尝试，但是“Comalies”却是众多专辑中为数不多的精品，并且还在音乐的感染力方面有了新的突破。这还得必须有亲耳欣赏过才能有更深刻的理解。然后乐队作为Sentenced的嘉宾，又参加了一场欧洲巡演。
总的来说，现在的Lacuna Coil已经算的上是意大利歌特金属的领导者了，经过“Comalies”，乐队不但没有离开原先的音乐路线，而是用无可非议的实力使自己的音乐进化到独树一帜，偶尔在歌词里加入他们的母语（意大利语）也成为他们歌曲中的小闪光点。Lacuna Coil的成功也证明了欧洲南部也是歌特金属界不可分割的重要一部分.
